How to Dress for Exercise
The right (and wrong) clothes and shoes
We love a good workout, but nothing kills the vibe faster than uncomfortable clothing that restricts movement.
That’s why it’s important to choose the right exercise apparel to ensure comfort, prevent chafing, and boost performance.
Don’t fret, you don’t need to buy an expensive new wardrobe just to exercise. Comfort matters more than brand names. Think stability and support.
What to Wear
Shoes: Cross-trainers or running shoes with support and a good grip.
Tops: Lightweight, breathable shirts or tank tops made of performance blends that are comfortable and let you move freely.
Bottom: Flexible leggings, shorts, or athletic joggers that stretch and allow a full range of motion.
Sports bra: If you need support (especially for lots of movement)
Optional: Water bottle, small towel

What NOT to Wear
Baggy or oversized clothes: Loose fabrics can get caught on things.
Lots of jewelry or accessories: Dangling earrings or necklaces can snag.
Unsupportive shoes: Old sneakers or slip-on shoes and sandals. They lack support and can lead to joint pain and even injuries.
Jeans or pants that restrict movement and have zero stretch.
100% cotton shirts or socks: They trap sweat, stay wet, and cause chafing. Fabric blends are best.

The better you feel, the more you’ll believe in your ability to perform — and that will make your workouts more effective and enjoyable.
