Ginger and Greens Immunity Smoothie

  • 1 green Granny Smith apple

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple

  • 2 cups spinach

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 1 inch of fresh ginger, peeled

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • Pinch black pepper

  • 1 cup filtered water


  1. Combine all ingredients together in a blender.

  2. Blend very well until smooth.

  • If your blender is not very strong, grate the ginger before adding it.

  • If you can tolerate the spiciness of extra ginger, feel free to add more (more immune system benefits).

  • If you can't find fresh ginger, substitute 2 tsp ground ginger.

  • If using fresh pineapple (or omitting) add 1 cup of ice.

  • Black pepper helps "activate" turmeric antioxidant power.
